Furthermore, additional factors like the faction system and an ever-growing roster of heroes make it impossible to create a team that will be on top forever.

Nevertheless, it certainly is possible to create an amazing team that can keep up with even the toughest levels and best players.

To give you some inspiration, we’ve gathered a couple of examples of real teams created by top players – both PvP and PvE teams.

The factors we recommend you keep in mind when creating your team in Idle Heroes include the balance of roles, the faction advantages system, combos and synergies, and the potential of heroes – more details on all of these factors below, as well as examples of real teams by top players.

Best teams in Idle Heroes

There is an almost endless number of teams you can build in Idle Heroes, which can make it overwhelming when you’re looking to build a strong end-game team.

Even when you narrow it down to only the strongest heroes in the game, there are still tons of potential team combinations.

To help you build a strong end-game team that can take on the late stage of the Campaign and competes with top players, we’ve gathered examples of real teams created by the best players in Idle Heroes.

  • Team 1 – Frontline: Mystic Fairy – Freya, Fairy Queen – Vesa. Backline: Ignis, Elyvia, Scarlet Queen – Halora, Gerke.
  • Team 2 – Frontline: Bloodtide Queen – Aranea, Fairy Queen – Vesa. Backline: Carrie, Lord of Death – Azrael, Star Alchemist – Holmes Young, The Sun Devourer – Eos.
  • Team 3 – Frontline: Fairy Queen – Vesa, Mystic Fairy – Freya. Backline: Lord of Fear – Aspen, Scarlet Queen – Halora, Rogan, Star Swordsman – Mockman.

You can simply copy any of the following teams if you find one you like, as they all will do very well late-game.

It takes quite a while to obtain the specific heroes you want and fully upgrade them, so expect to use temporary teams while building towards a specific setup.

Balance of roles

It’s important to have the right combination of roles on your team in Idle Heroes.

There are three overall roles in the game – attackers, supports, and tanks.

Each hero in the game is considered to be at least one of these three roles.

However, the class of a hero does not necessarily determine whether a hero is an attacker, support, or tank.

Heart Watcher, for example, is an assassin but is considered a support hero by the community.

In general, though, mages, assassins, and rangers are attackers, warriors are tanks, and priests are supports.

Just keep in mind that there are several exceptions to this generalization.

Unlike several similar RPG mobile games, tanks aren’t as important in Idle Heroes, which is why many top players choose to bring only one or no tank at all.

According to our findings, the optimal balance of roles on your team is three attacker heroes and three support heroes, or three attacker heroes, two support heroes, and one tank hero.

Faction advantages system

All heroes in Idle Heroes belong to one of six factions, which makes them stronger against another faction and weaker against a third faction.

Here is a list of the seven factions a hero can be in Idle Heroes.

  • Shadow
  • Fortress
  • Abyss
  • Forest
  • Dark
  • Light
  • Transcendence

The faction advantages system makes all factions deal 30% extra damage at a 15% increased precision to one other faction.

Because of this system, we recommend you consider the composition of factions on your team.

Using exclusively one faction will put you in trouble should you run into a team full of heroes of the faction that counters you.

Here is the full rundown of the faction advantages system

  • Shadow is strong against Fortress but weak against Forest.
  • Fortress is strong against Abyss but weak against Shadow.
  • Abyss is strong against Forest but weak against Fortress.
  • Forest is strong against Shadow but weak against Abyss.
  • Dark is strong against Light but is also weak against Light.
  • Light is strong against Dark but is also weak against Dark.
  • Transcendence deals no additional damage to any faction and doesn’t receive additional damage from any faction.

Even though the faction advantages system is important to keep in mind, other factors shouldn’t be ignored.

Having the right combination of roles, the best heroes, and a strong team synergy is more important than having a perfect mix of factions.

Just be sure not to put too many heroes of a single faction on your team.

Combos and synergy

Something else to consider when creating the ultimate team is combos and synergies on your team.

Your team will certainly be more powerful if its heroes work well together rather than just being a selection of individually strong heroes.

Here are some examples of combos and synergies we’ve found to be very powerful.

Heart Watcher is a classic example of a hero that is amazing for your team, even though its main damage contribution doesn’t come from its own attacks but rather the debuff it applies to enemies, making allies deal significant additional damage.

A combo that works very well is Sigmund and a strong healer like Belrain. Sigmund’s Burning Counterattack allows him to counterattack enemies with less armor than him.

The longer Sigmund can stay alive, the more damage he deals through counterattacks.

By bringing a hero who can keep him alive for longer, you’re going to increase his total damage output throughout battle significantly.

Damage-over-time effects are a big part of the end-game meta, making Delacium a prime pick.

He possesses the ability to spread DoTs and other debuffs from one enemy to two other enemies through his Transmissive Seed skill.

By bringing heroes with exceptionally powerful DoTs and debuffs, for example, Heart Watcher’s mark paired with Delacium’s spread, you have a recipe for a very strong combo.

As combos and synergies can be so powerful, we’ve found it effective to find a specific combo you want to use, and then build your team around that.

Best heroes for your team

There are many great heroes to use in Idle Heroes. However, some heroes are simply more powerful than others and better at filling specific roles.

Furthermore, some heroes and combos are so much more powerful than others that they should be heavily prioritized when you choose heroes for your team.

Some of the heroes that generally do really well on any team include:

  • Fairy Queen – Vesa
  • Scarlet Queen – Halora
  • Sword Flash – Xia
  • Lord of Fear – Aspen
  • The Sun Devourer – Eos
  • Mystic Fairy – Freya

Many top players have found great success in using these heroes on their late-game teams.

Therefore, we recommend checking them out and seeing if they’re a potential fit for your team.
